APN settings for mobile broadband operators in Sri Lanka

Access Point Name (APN) is a computer and mobile INTERNET protocol that typically allows a user's computer to access the Internet using the mobile phone network.

If you use a dongle or a HSDPA modem to access Internet, knowing the these APN for particular network operator is important. Most of dongles come along with per-installed network manager software which can automatically run and take particular network setting from the inserted SIM under Microsoft windows environment.

If you are using Linux or Ubuntu, the network manager software (comes with dongle) will do nothing for you and you need to setup your mobile broadband manually.
